Athena Artists is a free spirited group of friends who happen to be artists. It was conceived through collaboration with directives to show and promote the work of artists they care about and whose work they admire. This eclectic group of women from the Milwaukee area consist of a potter, jeweler, mosaic artist, handbag maker, water colorist, fabric artist, copper artist...and we are always adding talented women along the way. Each artist shows her work at fine art and craft shows throughout the Midwest, as well as in galleries nationwide.

The group chose Athena Artists as their name since the goddess Athena was a deity of diverse functions and attributes. Although her most conspicuous role was perhaps that of a goddess of war, she was also a patron of the arts and crafts, wisdom and strength.

This year, 5% of all purchases made through this website will go directly to the Waukesha Humane Society (H.A.W.S.). When purchasing work from any of our artists via their websites, please be sure to mention H.A.W.S. during the ordering process. Five percent of all revenue from our annual holiday art show, as well as all of the proceeds from our bountiful art basket raffle will go to H.A.W.S.
