Athena Artists will once again present a smashing array of art works for sale. Come sip cider while you check off names on your gift list. It's an eclectic array of original art; pottery, handmade jewelry, stained glass, watercolors, decorative ceramics, children's clothing, woven shawls, felted handbags and scarves.
Athena Artists is a free spirited group of friends who happen to be artists. It was conceived through collaboration with directives to show and promote the work of artists they care about and whose work they admire. Visit us at www.athenaartists.com.
Just a bit about the artists who comprise Athena Artists: Jessie Schroeder Voss of Pottery by Jessie creates brilliant, bold, clean lined functional and decorative pottery for the home. Judith Gahn Murphy has a passion for watercolor painting. Her watercolors are inspired by the most vivid colors in nature, the charm of a European scene and the challenge of creating reflective surfaces and patterned fabrics. Lynita Wolf of Wolf Designs, creates original and highly spirited designs in her one of a kind jewelry. She balances intricate wirework and hand formed beads and vessels from precious metal clay with pearls and semi-precious stones.
Beautiful leather bags and accessories, wearable felted scarves and artsy, fun handbags are the softer elements in this eclectic array at the Athena Artists Holiday Show. Donna Sherman creates leather purses in a wide range of colors along with fringe and or beading. Her variety of styles include small cell phone/ipod belt loop pouches to stylish everyday and professional purses. Lynn Ann and Melodee create the sister team of Felt-Up Designs, and create woven shawls and trendsetting felted scarves and purses.
Rounding out the eclectic array are the eye-catching, textured stained and leaded glass pieces by Susan Corkum of Purlion Studios, Jessica Keller Liljegren & Melissa Bowles of "In-Stitches" and the decorative ceramics of Taffnie Bogart. Susan is not bound by traditional methods of working with glass; she feels her work "transcends the typical." The ladies of "In-Stitches" are a joint focus featuring handmade vintage style half aprons for girls and mommies, magic wands, tooth fairy pillows, hip little monster dolls, and much more for your little one. Taffnie creates handmade one of a kind bedside lamps, wall pockets and porcelain hand-painted tile mirrors. She calls her line of hand painted dishware pieces, plates, lamps and jewelry, "Taffnieware".
The Athena Artists Holiday Show is a rich, textured and vibrant array of holiday gifts for friends and loved ones. Layered and joyous the collaboration of work from these eight artists is a holiday feast. A fabulous door prize basket will include an original work of art from each of the Athena Artists. Tickets will be sold throughout the day and the winning ticket holder will be announced the day of the event. Proceeds from the door prize tickets will go to the PWSA. The basket is a real bounty! Gifts for your family and friends and a gift for PWSA.
